Government-approved torture disguised as “therapy”?
THE ONGOING INHUMANITY OF ECT HAS NO PLACE IN A COUNTRY THAT PURPORTS TO CIVILISED GOVERNANCE

Sad to report that our politicians are still being hoodwinked by the pseudo-science of psychiatry into complicity with the unmitigated barbarity of electro-shocks to the head being used against its own citizens – all at taxpayers’ expense of course.
How psychiatrists dress up torture and call it ‘treatment’
The following article gives you a concise report on this deplorable cruelty.

Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), also known as electroshock, is a procedure that’s been compared to a torture method more likely to be found in an interrogator’s tool kit rather than in the inventory of a “medical practitioner.”
It’s difficult to sanitise the procedure when the truth is in full view. With this in mind, the Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) produced a documentary titled Therapy or Torture — The Truth About Electroshock. As the title suggests, it presents the facts, countering and dispelling any psychiatric propaganda or mitigation.
The idea behind ECT was born in 1938 in a Rome slaughterhouse. A psychiatrist observed pigs become more docile prior to slaughter, and after they were shocked. Psychiatrists started using it on unsuspecting human beings and they continue to this day, sending high-voltage electricity through a person’s brain to produce a grand mal seizure that they claim will “reset” or “reboot” the brain. It’s a theory that’s never been proven. In fact, there’s considerable evidence ECT causes significant and irreversible brain damage.
It doesn’t make much sense. Neither does ECT.
In its early years, ECT was used without anaesthesia, which meant patients suffered broken teeth, jaws and spines from the muscular spasms induced by the electricity. Due to public pressure, psychiatrists needed to give it a PR makeover.
They began using anaesthesia and paralysing agents to obscure the patients’ convulsions and screams. ECT was then marketed as ‘new and improved.’ Although the anaesthesia and paralysing agents made the procedure look more acceptable, it was actually more dangerous than ever. The seizure threshold had been raised, which meant an increased amount of electricity was required to induce a convulsion.
Today, psychiatrists routinely assault the brain with far more electricity than was previously required to induce a seizure. The result remains the same; a grand mal seizure and brain damage.
Psychiatrists have deceptively cloaked the procedure with medical legitimacy but the full ramifications are not explained to patients or their families.
If a person was fully informed about ECT and was in a position to make a fully informed choice, the outcome would likely be very different. It would also be far more difficult for psychiatrists to dress up torture as ‘treatment.’
Find out for yourself. Watch the documentary and be fully informed.
