Fun Fact: On Dec 4, 1948, a few months after the creation of Israel, the New York Times published this Letter to the Editors, by Albert Einstein, warning about a new political party called Tnuat Haherut, which Einstein repeatedly compared to the Nazis and called a “terrorist party”.
In 1988, Tnuat Haherut merged with several other right wing parties and changed its name to Likud. It is the party that currently leads Israel.
